Nightmares on Beacon Street

For those of us who are, were,(when I say were, I mean actively raising a child) or planning on being, parents...this is for you to revel in, relive, and consider. It's part of the fun of being a parent, it's part of the Natural Progression.

1030 Zulu Time...
Doesn't sound too bad. But when you consider that zulu time is designated to keep a universal time for the military and U.S. aviation from the prime meridian, and the starting point for the prime meridian is in Greenwich, England, not sounding too bad turns to utter horror on a Sunday morning. Subtracting 5 from Zulu time you get 0530 EST (that's us). In Marine Corps time, 0530 is REVEILLE...time to wake up...but last I checked my time in the military has been long since served and Kristy and I have been blessed righteously with two, healthy children who sleep very well to say the least. So, when the night and it's terrors unleashed their unholy hell on our little Francie this morning, we received a healthy dose of the "almost three" year old in bed with mommy and daddy. Oh joy.
Side stepping the graphic details, I'll simply say that I'm considering digging out my athletic supporter, complete with cup, that I wear when playing hockey. I'll find a place for it under the night stand some where for occasions like this morning...no problem. My sincere apologies go out to my sleeping appendages, I am so sorry and so is Francie, she didn't mean it...

Of course, I am saying ALL of this with tongue-in-cheek, but another note for aspiring parents, as those parents who are seasoned with young children should already know this. Be very careful when wishing that your child could talk...especially, at 0530 in the morning on a Sunday with a fresh kick to the...

I bid you adieu good friends until the next time.
